This designation significantly reduces the level of effort and cost for any organization that onboards to the CommonWell Health Alliance which includes access to the CommonWell network and to Carequality and TEFCA based exchange. For those healthcare organizations who choose Zen as their technology partner, they will benefit from significantly lower time and costs for onboarding with multi-network access.
Onramp to eHealth Exchange
Stargate is eHealth Exchange Validated*. This designation significantly reduces the level of effort and cost for any organization that onboards utilizing an eHealth Exchange Validated product. For those healthcare organizations who choose Zen as their technology partner, they will benefit from significantly lower costs for onboarding. eHealth Exchange is also a TEFCA QHIN.

An Onramp to Carequality
Stargate is not only a best-in-class gateway technologyinfrastructure, but Zen is also an official Carequality Implementer. This means that Zen clients can join Carequality through Zen, as a Carequality Connection. This significantly reduces the amount of work required for on-boarding.

- Have flexible use cases and data flows. For example: Do one query and return all documents found? Or let us pick locations and documents we want to retrieve.

- Know Stargate will try again later when failures occur.
- Optionally transform CCDAs to FHIR for easier ingestion(optional service).

Stargate FAQs
A typical national network project looks like this:
- Sign up with Zen for Stargate and choose your network and exchange purpose(s).
- Integration with the Stargate API is completed between your primary system(s) (where your users will be interacting with the data) and Stargate
- Zen’s guided network onboarding process walks through your selected networks required onboarding, testing (if applicable) and vetting processes.
- In collaboration with the Zen project team, complete testing for all required data flows.
Zen has been one of the leaders in onboarding Digital Health solutions to TEFCA using the Individual Access Services (IAS) exchange purpose. Zen supports the complex technical requirements for IAS, and provides guided IAS onboarding to reduce the time and cost associated with joining TEFCA under an IAS Exchange purpose.

Yes! Stargate supports any type of IHE based exchange, whereyou want to be able to query or be queried for clinical document exchange (CCD/C-CDA).That includes local "ad hoc" type exchange via XCA or XDS. As long as you and your data exchange partner have a business agreement in place to exchange data, Zen can handle the underlying technology components.
